Canton Cachers-- Forum for North Georgia GeoCachers

Georgia Geocachers Association

Geocachers of Southeast Tennessee

Welcome to Wanna Go

Welcome one and all to Wanna Go. A friendly, informal group of geocachers in the Northern half of the great state of Georgia. We are a very loose group of fun loving geocachers. Whether you're a stash-hunting veteran or new to GPS in general, we're glad you found us.

Wanna Go Crew
History

The Wanna Go Group was established June 6, 2004 after an outing to the Portland Caves cache located in Rockmart, Georgia a few days before. The idea came as a result of a GGA web board posting by a local female cacher who was looking for someone to join her on this rural cache hunt. The title of the forum topic was simply "wanna go?" In the end, there were a total of seven individuals that joined her on that cache hike, as well as a few other stashes in the area.

What is Geocaching

Geocaching is a kind of high-tech scavenger hunt. Geocachers use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver to search for waterproof containers filled with trinkets of various sorts. When they find the geocache, they sign the logbook and can trade items of equal value. This is a growing sport with many enthusiasts around the world enjoying the combination of technology and the outdoors.
